Sonja (Chelsea Gilligan), who is estranged from her husband Jason (Steven Good), seeks solace in her supervisor, Robert (Austen Jaye). Mia (Sydney Cole Alexander), Robert's wife, is horrified when he is found dead in a hotel, especially after learning that he was having an affair. Mia recognizes Sonja's perfume as they pass each other as she exits Robert's office after learning of his passing. When Sonja learns that Robert has passed away, she interprets it as a sign to try again with her marriage. Jason leases an isolated cottage to reconnect, and it's there that Cla re-introduces herself as their next-door neighbor. After gradually getting to know Jason, Sonja leaves him by himself in the cabin to go back into the city for a work emergency.
A rainstorm strikes the cottage while Sonja is away, and Clare arrives at Jason's door reporting her power is off. Jason offers Clare refuge inside, but even after she kisses him, he stays true to Sonja. Sonja is immediately wary of Clare as she enters the cabin. Sonja sneaks into Clare's house to learn what she is really up to. Clare discovers Sonja's whereabouts and catches her, revealing Sonja to be Mia. Sonja needs to stop Mia before she loses all she cares about after realizing the lengths to which Mia will go for retribution.
